How Many People Can I Fit At A Table?
As the weather is getting nicer your event or party that you have been thinking about is getting closer. You probably have already decided on where you are going to have it, have already started planning the decor and may have even started to think about and decided on food. Your guest list is growing as you are thinking about everyone you want to invite and you may be wondering just how many people you can squeeze into a space and around a table.
For the most part there are two different styles of tables that you may be using. A round table or a banquet table. There are both advantages and disadvantage to the two different styles. A round table makes it easy for your guest to socialize with each other compared to a banquet table however a round table does take up more square footage compared to a banquet table. This being said if you are tight on space you may want to consider banquet tables. If space is not an issue you may want to give your guest a round table so they may easily talk to each other.
Now that you have decided on the style table that will work best for you it is time to talk numbers. When figuring out seating you want to plan on about 2 feet for each person. With this in mind an 8 foot banquet table will comfortably be able to hold 8 people ( 4 people on each side). You may also be able to squeeze an additional 2 people by putting a seat at each end of the table. A 6 foot banquet table using the 2 feet rule will hold 6 people (3 on each side). Again you could possibly add an additional 2 by using the ends of the table.
Round tables can be a little trickier to figure our the total amount of people that can fit due to the fact that you are often given the diameter of the table and not the total circumference so it is hard to use the 2 feet rule. There are a couple different round table sizes that you can come across but here is a list of some of the most popular you will find.
36"-42" Round table will hold about 3-5 people.
54" Round table will hold about 6 people.
60" Round table will hold 6-10
people.
72" Round table will hold 8-10 people.
